Green tomato chutney
1½ lb green tomatoes
1½ lb apples
1½ lb onions
1½ lb brown sugar
1½
½pt vinegar
1 ounce ground ginger
½ teaspoon turmeric
1 tablespoon salt
Pinch of pepper
3 heaped teaspoons cornflour
METHOD
Blend/mince the tomatoes, apples and onions, then add
brown sugar and put into large pan and 1 pint of the
vinegar.
Bring to boil and cook for 5 minutes.
Mix the rest of the dry ingredients with the remainder of
the vinegar and add to the mixture, then cook for further
2 minutes. Stir well and then bottle (preferably in small
jars).
